Developmental Academy
The Rochester Developmental Academy provides players ages U9–U19 with a competitive, development-focused soccer experience. With multiple teams offered at many age groups, players can be placed in an environment that matches their current ability and supports continued growth.
Teams train in structured, age-appropriate environments and compete in leagues such as the Southeast Minnesota Soccer League, Minnesota Academy League and Metro Alliance League. The program is an excellent fit for players who want quality coaching, meaningful competition and opportunities to advance within North Star FC.

Spring/Summer 2027 registration remains open through October 31 for players who did not attend tryouts.

Program Information

Once the league comes out with the game nights, we will be able to determine the practice nights. We will update this webpage as soon as we have the information.

Teams will practice 2 times per week with generally 1 game per week starting in late April.

Games usually conclude end of June or early July.

Practice location will be determined by the coach and senior coaching staff.

Time of the practice usually falls between 5:30 or 7:00pm for a start time. Duration of practice will be dependant on the age group
Starting in the Fall 2026, US Club and USYS will begin the new birth year guidelines that all clubs will follow. Please see below:

The season will run end of April-through early July.
Once we have confirmation dates for indoor times we will communicate this with all families.
Starting in Fall 2025, we will be in a new uniform cycle so all players will need to order new kits.

Payment plan dates are the following- Intial payment when you register and then installments 11/1, 12/1, 2/1, 3/1, 4/1, 5/1, 6/1

At North Star FC, we believe every child should have the opportunity to play, regardless of financial circumstances. If you need assistance, we offer a Financial Aid option during registration through PlayMetrics.
To apply:

- Click on the "Financial Aid" tab before completing your registration.
- Submit your application with the required information.
Once submitted, your request will be reviewed by our team. You will receive an email notification once your application has been approved or denied. After receiving a decision, you may proceed with registering for the program.

At North Star FC, we offer multiple levels of play within each age group to ensure every player is placed in the best environment for their development.
Player placement is determined through coach evaluations and tryouts. While tryouts are not mandatory, they are highly encouraged, as they provide valuable insight for our selection committee when forming teams.
To register for tryouts, simply complete your 2027 season registration.
